What is CodeYQR?

This fall, we're running CodeYQR's flagship hackathon in Regina — a beginner-friendly event for high schoolers where programmers, artists, and engineers spend a day together building fun coding projects, individually or in teams.

CodeYQR is a student-led initiative working to create more opportunities for young people to explore technology, develop practical skills, and showcase what they can build.

Who we serve

Our primary audience is students in Grades 8–12 in Regina and the surrounding area — many of them picking up a hackathon, or coding in general, for the first time.

Our previous organizing experience

Before CodeYQR, our team organized Campfire Regina, the first Hack Club hackathon held in Saskatchewan. It was a small event, but it gave our team real experience organizing a technology event end-to-end.

Venue options currently include the Innovation Saskatchewan Rotunda (approx. $80/hour), as well as potential university facilities through the University of Regina and Enactus. If we secure a low-cost or donated venue, additional sponsorship funding goes straight toward food, prizes, workshops, and the overall event experience.
