Plain-language version: we collect the minimum we need, we don't sell it, and we're extra careful because a lot of our community is under 18.
When you join CodeYQR, volunteer, apply to mentor, or register for an event, we ask for the information genuinely needed to run that program — typically your name, grade or age category, school, email, and your interests. We don't ask for anything beyond that unless there's a clear reason (for example, if an event genuinely requires a phone number for day-of logistics, we'll explain why before asking).
We use this information to run CodeYQR programs: to contact you about events, match volunteers and mentors to roles, plan logistics like food and materials, and keep you updated about future opportunities. We do not use it for anything beyond that.
A significant part of our community is in Grades 8–12. We take that seriously:
Form data is stored securely and access is limited to the CodeYQR organizing team members who need it to run our programs. As our tech stack matures, we'll keep this page updated with specifics on where and how data is stored.
You can ask us to update or delete your information at any time by emailing us. If you're a parent or guardian and want to review or remove your student's information, reach out the same way.
